About Us!
We’re Clifford and Claudia — a couple with over 20 years of experience in London’s vibrant hospitality scene.
Clifford, born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, built his career as a Head Chef in some of London’s most dynamic kitchens. His passion for flavour, creativity, and genuine hospitality drives everything we do.
Claudia, originally from São Vicente, Madeira, moved to the UK to pursue a career in restaurant management and marketing. Her love for people, organisation, and storytelling perfectly complements Clifford’s culinary artistry.
Bayley’s Kitchen was born during lockdown — a way to keep our passion for cooking alive while connecting with our local community. From homemade sourdough bread, jams, chutneys, and desserts, we shared our creations with our neighbours in Hackbridge (SM6), South London.
After many wonderful years in the UK, we decided it was time to reconnect our family — our two boys and our dog — with Claudia’s roots in the north of Madeira Island, São Vicente.
Now, back on this beautiful island, we’ve brought Bayley’s Kitchen to life in a new way — blending food, gatherings, and memories. Our events celebrate gastronomy with soul and creativity, offering heartfelt culinary experiences that bring people together around the table.
